Philarmonie De Paris (detail)

The Philharmonie de Paris is a public institution of an industrial and commercial nature under the tutelage of the Minister of Culture, mainly devoted to symphonic music, benefiting from high-quality acoustic equipment, but also to chamber music, jazz or world music. It includes "Philharmonie 1", inaugurated on January 14, 2015, consisting of a 2,400-seat concert hall, called "Pierre Boulez", exhibition spaces, educational workshops and rehearsal rooms, and the Cité de la Musique, opened in 1995 and renamed "Philharmonie 2", consisting of two other concert halls of respectively 900 and 250 seats, the museum of music and a media library. His resident formations are the Orchester de Paris and the Ensemble intercontemporain.
